A friend of mine (Vietnam vet) just recently found out from the Walla Walla Veterans Affairs Medical Center that he has prostate cancer. The people there told him they caught it early. Great news? He asked when he can get the treatment they decided on at the VA facility in Seattle. The doctor said it would be two to three months.
You've got to be kidding me. They're saying it's great they caught it early, then say treatment will be two or more months away. What is up with that? For financial reasons, local treatment is not an option. My friend is a veteran who deserves VA benefits, but having to wait for treatment while the cancer is spreading is a slap in the face.
