SUSAN KNOX, Pasco
We are residents of the doughnut hole.
As the city of Pasco began to annex property all around us, we have for 24 years held on to our way of country/county way of living and do not wish to change.
Attending Pasco City Council meetings and being told by Rebecca Francik that we have to change our lifestyle was just unbelievable. And when we asked the city manager how do we pay for sewer trunk lines and sewer hookups, he replied you will have to take a loan out, or we will put a lien on your property.
Never miss a local story.
A little later in the same meeting, three city council members and the mayor raised their hands to move forward on annexation. Four people deciding my lifestyle with no vote or say was another unbelievable moment.
I might add that we have never signed a contract with the city of Pasco to get our water and would prefer to do business with the new city where nothing changes our lifestyle.
