E.C. LUND, Pasco
The Tri-City Herald recently reported that the Franklin County commissioners decided to change providers of roadside week control. I don't believe it.
Oh, the part about changing providers may be true enough. But I don't believe Franklin County has ever spent one thin dime on weed control. Should the county commissioners be confused on this point, they merely need to venture a few miles north of Pasco to see roadside weeds annually growing so thick and lush they must be a cash crop.
In the summer, the puncture vine wreaks havoc on my bike tires. During the winter, the tumble weeds collect around my house in Mt. Rainier-sized piles. Either stop wasting my money or get serious about the problem.
