RON and JUDY LERCH, Richland
We recently attended the Mess Hall Dinner and USO Show benefit put on by the Hanford Reach and the CREHST Museum.
The setting in an old Pasco Naval Air Station warehouse (thank you, Help-u-Move moving company for making the facility available to us) was reminiscent of the mess halls at Hanford during the early construction days.
The excellent dinner was served family style just like in the old days. Jo Brodzinski masterminded the entertaining USO show, featuring Swing Unlimited, Steve Haberman and Bluezette, Mary Lou Gnoza, the Tri-City Tappers and former Miss America (1987) Kellye Cash.
Never miss a local story.
The evening came to a close with Kellye Cash singing God Bless America, with the whole audience on its feet singing with her on the second chorus.
Thank you to Ellen Low of the CREHST Museum and Lisa Toomey of the Reach, their staffs, and all the volunteers that made this evening so enjoyable. The evening can only be described as fabulous.
