Romney pays a 13 percent tax rate. What allows that to happen? Could it be the convoluted federal tax code? If so, why criticize Romney? He is only taking advantage of provisions in the tax code. Wouldn't you do the same? In fact, many people take advantage of loopholes that the tax code allows. Mortgage deductions anybody? Earned income tax credit anybody?
There is only one way to ensure that all Americans pay their so-called "fair share." The Fair Tax is a bill in Congress (HR25) that would rescind the current tax code and replace it with a consumption tax. Instead of bemoaning the fact that Romney and others pay a 13 percent tax rate, let's get behind a truly revolutionary tax reform bill. Before dismissing this idea, go to fairtaxnation.com or fairtax.org to research how the Fair Tax could benefit all taxpayers.
People who sit back and criticize the Romneys of this country should resolve to research the Fair Tax bill and write their member of Congress to support it. Complaining about Romney is wasted effort and proves that class warfare works. But hey that's just me.
