CRISSA FLINK, Kennewick
The staff at Kennewick General Hospital recently received an update on the Southridge project from our CEO and details on how we are moving forward with the new hospital. We were told that many people from the community wrote in to show their support of the new hospital. We were also told that Kadlec Regional Medical Center wrote a 35-page paper on how it disapproves of the new facility and why.
I find it frustrating and disheartening that Kadlec can't embrace and support the construction of the new KGH and the many positives it's going to bring to our community. Why can't we work together instead of all this competition?
Didn't we all, as health care workers, take a vow to do what's in the best interest of our patients? Don't Kadlec officials think that new facilities and a "higher level of care" for all hospitals is what's best? Maybe Kadlec should think about the community's needs before its own greed.
