T.O. METZ, Kennewick
Finally, a letter on politics that resonates. Richard A. Moen's letter on Sept.16, regarding the recent conventions and upcoming elections is spot on.
To his description of the conventions, I would add that both had the stink of desperation. Current politics appears to rely on inflaming the electorate with negative and therefore polarizing rhetoric. Those of us not fooled are almost paralyzed with inaction as we wade through the half-truths looking for the whole truth.
Why can't a campaign be run by suggesting real solutions from a positive perspective, rather than slinging mud at the opposition? Is the only formula for success to make the opposition's track record or plan appear worse than your own when neither are strong? That's some option for voters.
I too am looking for a candidate running for any office with an original approach or set of ideas. I am still looking.
