KEN KIRBY, Kennewick
Kadlec Regional Medical Center's statement of support of Kennewick General Hospital's new complex at Southridge is unprecedented. And I don't believe it's genuine. It's as if I hired a professional landscaper to make my yard look better, then the neighbor goes to city officials and tells them that while it will look good, I shouldn't be allowed to do it because I can't afford it.
While I might like my neighbors, I don't want them sticking their nose into my yardwork. Come on, Kadlec, keep your own yard looking good and quit messing with the neighbors. It's making you look bad.
If Kadlec really wants to help, take the money it spends on researching KGH's financing options and its own public relations program and throw it toward some of the less fortunate patients' bills. While I assume Kadlec does this already, a little more never hurts. It's better than wasting it on a P.R. battle that makes Kadlec look like a bully.
