As a member of the Safe Harbor Support Center Board of Directors, I want to express appreciation to Jacob Campbell, Sarah Castaneda and Brandon Anderson for the great event, "Will Rage for Food," staged to draw awareness to My Friend's Place homeless teen shelter, a project of Safe Harbor Support Center.
The free concert on Aug. 17 was enjoyed by close to 100 teens, adult volunteers and supporters. DJ's Bounce House, Mighty Disco, Metalmorphisis and Juicy Jay provided music from 6 p.m. to 10 p.m.
Special thanks to the Bikers Against Child Abuse group for coming and visiting with the teens. Friendship bracelets were exchanged among participants, food was enjoyed and tours given of My Friend's Place, along with the dancing and entertainment.
My Friend's Place offers teens, ages 13 through 17, a safe place to spend the night, healthy meals and help connecting to needed resources to remain in school. For information about My Friend's Place and services offered contact Tami at 374-4902.
Never miss a local story.
