Good for President Obama and Gov. Romney for suspending negative and personal attacks several weeks ago in respect for the victims and families of the Colorado shootings and killings. Now perhaps they will take the next step.
The president and the governor should continue the start they made and suspend all negative campaigning and call for all those in their party to do the same. Additionally, demand that any groups campaigning for them discontinue all negative ads and to only run positive ads. No further personal attacks. No further out-of-context attacks. No more attacks that are simply not the truth (quit lying).
Each candidate will also, as a way of demonstrating respect to all American citizens, remind their parties in Congress that who they work for us to quit wasting time and taxpayer dollars playing their silly word and procedure games and their endless attempts at "one ups men ship." It is the American citizen, whether rich or poor or in between, who is suffering because a large group of highly educated, highly paid people are putting themselves and their personal agendas ahead of the what is best for this country as a whole.
