I'm concerned about the future of the TRAC Expo Center in Pasco. I produce the Tri-Cities Sportsmen Show each January at the TRAC and have used this facility each year since it was built more than 16 years ago. This event is popular with out-of-town and local outdoor enthusiasts, and many exhibitors and attractions return each year to spend money locally and participate in the Tri-Cities Sportsmen Show.
If, in fact, the TRAC Expo Center is changed to a sports complex and aquatic center, many of the shows and other activities currently using the TRAC cease to exist because there are no other facilities locally that can accommodate them.
I have personally looked for other venues in the Tri-City area, and there are no other facilities that would be even close to furnishing the flexibility and overall space that TRAC currently offers. The TRAC was built to fill a need in the Tri-City area and should remain as an expo facility if the local and out-of-town patrons want to continue to attend quality events in the Mid-Columbia.
