A high-five for George Williamson's letter (July 27) "Bigger problems" regarding the minor issue of Olympic Games uniforms and back-burnering the larger matters at hand, like economy and unemployment here in the USA.
Lots of people agree with you, sir, on what you see as a definite lack of leadership in D.C. Take heart, there is a solution.
Since American businesses have dumped cheap Asian-made goods on us with jacked-up prices, let's follow their example at home. Let's go all the way with their commercial philosophy and outsource -- ready for this? -- the entire body of Congress! Be realistic, these 535 fools under Congress' dome are not doing us any favors; maybe some talented Germans, Dutch, Japanese, Andorrans andCypriots would do a better job! Could they do any worse than the domestic crop of The Millionaire's Club now operating in the nation's capitol?
Sorry, Mr. Williamson, but I'm afraid it's already too late when corporations, with their sybarites, "lead" this country.
