Here is a list of names of people and companies that some people keep saying aren't paying their fair share and need to pay more.
Buffett, Sears, Ford, Penny, Becthel, Gates, Boeing, Crock (McDonald's), Apple, Trump and Walton (Wal-Mart).
These are the last names of people who started a business, along with hundreds of others, who are your 1 percenters. People who literally put hundreds of thousands of people to work everyday in the United States. Worldwide, it's in the millions.
They hire, pay wages and benefits, expand, trade, do business with and buy services related to the specific businesses they're in all across America. They also pay taxes, pay into pensions and unemployment insurance. Add it all up, and it's in the hundreds of billions of dollars regularly poured back into the economy.
There are about 48 percent of Americans who pay no income tax. My suggestion is that these folks can pay something, however small it might be, and help contribute to the well being and upkeep of America. Even the unemployed pay 10 percent on their weekly checks. Helping to pay their "fair share" would instill within them a sense of pride with a stake in America's future.
