Where in our Constitution does it give the president the authority to enact laws or changes to laws previously passed by the Congress? We can argue the virtue or benefits to those illegal immigrants all day but if they have no legal right to be in this country, the changes we need to make would start with our borders. Congress needs to have an adult, responsible, and serious look at the real problem and come to a mutually agreed-upon approach to fixing it. Why do we elect these "leaders" who refuse to lead? And then we re-elect the same ones. President Obama was elected to be the leader of our country and not to unilaterally dictate how we live.
People in other countries wait in line for years to be lucky enough to be chosen to come to this country through legal procedures. What kind of message do they receive when they hear how easy it is for folks to jump our borders and be granted amnesty? Where will this get us in the end? Do we have endless resources to accommodate the welfare systems that are already bulging? Unintended consequences come back to bite us. What has happened to law and order?
