As I read the Letters section of the Herald, I often chuckle about the absolute certainty of facts expressed by writers espousing different sides of political viewpoints.
Jane Fox's letter of May 30, stating that data on the Congressional Budget Office's website shows the federal deficit has not grown under President Obama, is simply not true.
I could not find that conclusion, and when I searched the internet for information about the national deficit, the conclusions were that the deficit has grown in the last three years.
Now as to whose "fault" it is, I leave that to individuals to decide. Personally I like the conclusion at the end of Business Insider's June 5 article, "The truth about who's responsible for our massive budget deficit."
The author concludes, "If we want to know who's really to blame, we should take a peek in the mirror."
