It was great to see more than 220 Tri-Citians show up for state Rep. Larry Haler's recent kickoff breakfast. Clearly, the support he gets from leaders like former Congressman Sid Morrison and the legislative leaders in Olympia are a solid testament to the effectiveness and influence he has on the legislative process in Olympia.
And when it comes to representation, I agree with what Morrison said, Larry "has served the residents of this district well."
And though he's not boisterous, "He's been effective as a legislator because he's earned a reputation of trust amongst his peers." His example of crossing the aisle and effectively working with colleagues on both sides to do the best for our community and state is noteworthy and represents the idea of what we want in our public servants.
As chairman of the Benton County Republican Party Central Committee, I am pleased to see that the man we put forward as a legislative candidate back in 2006 has become the statesman we put forward today for re-election.
Never miss a local story.
I hope you will join me in voting to re-elect Haler in November.
