Have the heads of this broke state lost their minds? To even think that a purchase price of $7 million for new public lands is an option -- really? The state has shut down parks it cannot take care of, programs have been cut because of the lack of funds and the list goes on. Now they want to purchase the McWhorter Ranch.
These include taxpayer dollars we are talking about, and if as Jeff Tayer of the Washington State Department of Fish and Wildlife states that there are almost no big ranches like the McWhorter Ranch left, then let a rancher buy it.
This type of behavior by clueless bureaucrats is just what gets states in a whole lot of financial trouble, and this needs to stop.
