No, the price of gas will not affect my summer plans in any way. Not much gas necessary to drive to Regal Cinema in the mall or Carmike Cinema near Costco where a total of 11 operas at various international theaters have been filmed live for simultaneous showing in the local movie theaters, top price $25.
No much gas used to drive across the bypass highway to the dead end of Swift Blvd. to the Cinna Event Center (interesting choice of words, there). My summer project is getting ready for a big party similar to the memorial columnist Kay Kerbyson wrote about on May 27, "Tell them how you feel while they can hear."
A month ago two friends decided they would organize a premature wake for me to celebrate a milestone birthday with my friends and relatives, Kiwanis buddies, former colleagues and students, political cohorts, etc. while I am still alive to toast them with a glass of Washington wine and share the memories accumulated during of my 61 year residency in Richland. Save the date: Sept. 22, 2012.
