For the past few years, the economy has been in dire straits. Unlike the rest of the nation, here in the Mid-Columbia, we surge above the rest regarding economical endeavors. Work opportunities here are far greater in comparison to the typical American city, and we have much to be thankful for.
This prosperity is because of the Hanford site and a diverse rural establishment. I begin to wonder whether Mid-Columbia will continue to be sheltered from the recession that plagues much of the United States. How long will support for the Hanford cleanup last?
I hope we will be able to see a continuation of our unusual economic prosperity. Rather than becoming reliant on what has worked in the past, we must be vigilant in pursuit of new, visionary, promising horizons of economic security to safeguard our success.
