There is a dark shadow in the corner that everyone is afraid to acknowledge. No, it is not a monster or your in-laws, it is much worse. It is the dark pit of debt that our country is in.
Under President Obama the national debt continues to grow, and government has a major lack of fiduciary controls. Are our government officials to blame? Millions of people have become so dependent on the government for help that they cannot function without government programs. Should we blame the government or ourselves for taking advantage of these programs?
I suggest we actually cut 10 percent of every program -- not 10 percent of the annual increase, but 10 percent of the total entitlement.
Once we get our financial house in order, then we can consider future help. Everyone will have to suffer to get our budget under control.
