Why no outrage over Constitution under Obama?
Professor Mansperger, like so many on the left, has suddenly discovered the U.S. Constitution. If only there had been equivalent outrage when the last president imperiously announced that if Congress didn't act, he would.
With all due respect, Mr. President, we didn’t elect a “king.” Professor Mansperger — whose fields are anthropology and world civilization – can be forgiven his lack of familiarity with the Constitution; the last president, who taught Constitutional law, should have known better.
Perhaps the op-ed by Jay Ambrose, also in Sunday's Forum, will enlighten Professor Mansperger. The last president trampled the Constitution and acted without regard for separation of powers and other significant details; the current president is a non-politician, occasionally crude and rarely careful with his words, but so far has acted within allotted powers and urged Congress to act within theirs.
