The infamous Robert “The Traveller” Hill is running again — in 2012.
He’s filed paperwork to run against Sen. Debbie Regala, or at least the seat the Tacoma Democrat is expected to continue to occupy subject to the outcome of the November general election.
Funny story. Hill actually filed to run against Regala this year before dropping out. As one 1980s hair band once sang, “Make up your mind before you make me lose mine.” (100 points to the first commenter who names the band. We’ll throw in an extra 50 if you name the title of the song. No fair using Google.)
Hill is known for his troublemaking brand of tomfoolery in public places, discussing inappropriate subjects on television and sometimes not wearing pants.
So perhaps it’s fitting that the news of his candidacy was broken not by a political blog but the Tacoma News Tribune’s Lights and Sirens blog.
If you check out his filing, you’ll see that he already has campaign letterhead for his A.D. 2012 run.
You’ll also note that he is mini-reporting, meaning he’s got four years to not raise or spend more than $5,000. Good thing he’s getting a head start, eh?
And that’s convenient because just saying the name of his committee (The Committee To Elect In 2012 Robert Hill to the State Legislature!) would soak up all 30 seconds of any radio ad anyway.
