Are you an out-of-work political consultant wise in the ways of advising politicians how to best not answer questions? If so, don’t bother barking up Rep. Maureen Walsh’s tree. You won’t last.
Walsh, R-College Place, is a woman of many talents. She can sing, she can dance and she’s pretty blunt and fearless when it comes to speaking her mind.
Case in point. Last week she visited with the Herald editorial board along with her challenger, Kennewick Democrat Dante Montoya.
And in talking up her strengths, namely her interest and ability in working social issues in Olympia, she also was pretty open about her weaknesses.
“Agriculture is probably not my forte,” she offered. “Frankly, I kill house plants.”
UPDATE: Walsh just sent a note to clarify that she actually has a shamrock plant still alive and well in her living room. No word if Rep. Brian Blake, D-Aberdeen, is worried about losing his chairmanship of the House Agriculture Committee.
