A few odds and ends for you on a Wednesday.
— Joe Turner has a story in this morning’s News Tribune about the Catholic Church’s efforts to combat this year’s assisted suicide initiative, I-1000, and you can find it here.
— Sen. Margarita Prentice, D-Renton, told Rich Roesler at the Spokesman-Review that efforts by Washington State University alums to oppose a $150 million taxpayer subsidy of a $300 million renovation of Husky Stadium is “pretty pathetic.” You can find Roesler’s post here and my earlier post on the subject here.
— Speaking of Rich Roesler, he’s plugging an online game, found here, produced by the liberal organization Fuse in which players throw pies at initiative promoter Tim Eyman. You’ll find it difficult at first to nail him, as Eyman keeps ducking and reappearing elsewhere. So far, I’ve managed to nail him six times in one game.
— The Seattle Times has a story this morning breaking down the fundraising going on in the race for public lands commissioner, where incumbent Republican Doug Sutherland is getting a hot contest from Democrat Peter Goldmark. It’s one of several down ballot races that will have to scream to be heard this year.
UPDATE: A colleague tells me she just nailed Eyman seven times. So, as they say, it's on. I invite readers to report your best scores, too.
UPDATE: Ha! I got eight. Sure hope the boss isn't reading this.
UPDATE: D'oh!
