The poll was conducted Monday and Tuesday of 718 likely voters and has a margin of error of plus or minus 3.7 percent.
The same poll showed Democratic presidential candidate Barack Obama leading Republican John McCain 51 percent to 44 percent. That’s closer than Survey USA’s July poll, which had Obama up by 16 points.
