How bad have things gotten for embattled Rep. Jim Dunn? Apparently pretty bad.
His Republican challenger recently was endorsed by GOP precinct committee officers in the 17th District.
And a report he filed with the Public Disclosure Commission today indicates that over the last two months Dunn has raised a grand total of $835 for his campaign. That pushed his campaign total to — this is not a misprint — $892.87.
He reported having spent $803.95, leaving his campaign with $88.92 cash on hand as of Monday night.
That’s not going to buy many yard signs, radio spots or bumper stickers.
UPDATE: It's worth noting that $800 of Dunn's $835 "war chest" (music box?) came from one contribution. And that was from Physicians Insurance. That must be ackward to be Dunn's only named donor.
The other $35 came from a low cost fundraiser on Independence Day. It was either virtually free or turnout was a little light.
Either way it didn't pencil out. He reports having spent $239.84 on a fundraiser, presumably that one.
Otherwise, he tapped his campaign kitty to cover his filing fee, pay for gas and memory modules.
