Rep. Dan Newhouse thinks a Donald Trump presidency would be better than four more years of “dangerous, liberal policies,” according to a statement released Thursday.
Newhouse was on vacation with his wife and could not be reached directly, said Sean O’Brien, his campaign manager.
But an emailed statement from Newhouse outlines his opinion.
“It looks like Trump is going to be the Republican nominee,” he said. “I don’t agree with him on everything, but I think our nation needs a change after eight years of the Obama Administration.”
He continued, “Hillary Clinton would be four more years of the same dangerous, liberal policies — policies which have led to stagnant incomes, less opportunity for Americans, and further uncertainty about the ability for many to reach and live the American dream. We cannot afford four more years of these policies.”
O’Brien was unable to say whether Newhouse would vote for Trump or not.
