Editor's note: The candidates' responses to the following question are exactly as submitted, without any editing.
11. What is your relationship with our two senators (Sen. Murray and Sen. Cantwell), and the congressional offices adjoining ours (Rep. Kathy McMorris-Rogers, and Jaime Herrera Beutler)?
I have a close relationship with both our Senators. I've known Sen. Murray the longest. I was the recipient of her prestigious Golden Tennis Show Award in 2003 for outstanding citizenship. Obviously having worked for Sen. Cantwell in Washington, D.C. I have a close working relationship with her as well.
Never miss a local story.
As a senior staffer in the House of Representatives I was personally acquainted with members of Rep. McMorris-Rogers senior staff. I haven't had the pleasure of meeting Rep. Herrera Beutler, but I look forward to working with her.
I have a great relationship with our neighboring Representatives, and have already reached out to them in anticipation of working with them in the House. Additionally, I was able to meet with Senator Cantwell's chief of staff when I visited Washington, D.C. in June, paving the way to a successful working relationship with her in Congress.

I recently visited with Rep. Cathy McMorris-Rogers in Washington D.C. and met with Rep Herrera Beutler as well. I believe that my relationship with them is amiable and that we would work well together. As for our state’s two Democrat Senators, I would certainly work hard to find common ground within the confines of the Constitution and the Bill of Rights on issues that all Americans face together as a nation.
Congresswoman McMorris-Rodgers and I went to school together. In fact, she helped me recognize the virtues of public service, and that I am well suited for it.
Congresswoman Herrera Beutler makes regular visits to Olympia, and we are well acquainted. She is also a former lawmaker, and we worked together on issues.
The process in passing Federal legislation is different than in Olympia. In Olympia, the prime-sponsor in one House can have his or her bill move through the entire process to the Governor for his signature. Once the prime-sponsor's legislation passes your chamber in Washington D.C., you have to have a member in the opposite house prime-sponsor a companion.
The reality of this is that Washington's delegation has to work together for what is good for Washington.
My experience as an Eastern Washington State Senator demonstrates my ability to work across the aisle and get things done. Sometimes this means helping legislation advance without getting any public recognition. It is about the result more than the recognition.
While Senators Murray and Cantwell and I will disagree on the specifics of many issues, I commit to do my part to work together for the good of our State without compromising my core conservative principles.
We're not on speaking terms.
I had the pleasure of serving in the Washington State Legislature with both Representatives Cathy McMorris-Rodgers and Jaime Herrera Beutler, and I get along very well with both of them. I don't know the Senators as well, but I have worked with Cantwell's office on a few ag related issues.

These folks are my employees and I tap into them as need be.
I have no direct relationship with these representatives.
I worked for years with Sen. Murray and Sen. Cantwell on issues affecting the 4th CD. I worked on Sen. Cantwell first election campaign as a staffer.
Never met Rep. Kathy McMorris-Rogers. Briefly interacted at events with Jaime Herrera Beutler.

I have known Senator Murray since March of 2009 and I have met with her on several occasions. I have had very strong support for my project proposal from Patty! Patty has taken my proposal to Obama and VP Biden. They have initiated a project review board who are currently working with Governor Inslee and the Gates Foundation, I believe!
Please consider looking at my campaign web and review some of the correspondence between myself and Senator Murray at;

Leaders I have taken my project to
I also met with Senator Cantwell in March of 2009 and other timeframes! In fact, I was the 1st to introduce Maria to the Columbia Basin Project, which can be verified by Grant County Public Utility commissioner Mr. Terry Brewer. Terry was at the same meeting as I, and he witnessed Maria say "What project is he talking about"? As you may know Maria is from Indianapolis IN? This is one of the major problems having State Congressional leaders who have been raised in other States and countries, in my opinion. As you may remember? I ran against Maria Cantwell in 2012 primary, but Mike Baumgartner ran in the General against Maria and lost!
I first met Congresswoman Cathy McMorris Rodgers in March 2009 and again in Nov. 2009. I was in Congress when the Affordable Care Act Passed the House. I watched Cathy take the Podium and tell the chamber, it had been recorded that year almost 800 Billion dollars in Medical fraud throughout America! The news reports say only the Democrats passed the vote. That is incorrect! The Democrats were on the Left side of the chamber and the Republicans were on the right. One tall dark haired Congressman in the 2nd or third row on the Republican side stood up when the count was taken. Even though I disagreed with Obamacare, he was the strongest Congressman in the chamber, in my opinion!
The last time, I corresponded with Cathy was at the 2012 Republican Convention in Tacoma. I firmly believe Cathy would help take this project to Speaker John Boehner, the current Republican Congressional leadership, and to the RNC for their endorsement as the 1st Public Works Project supported and endorsed by the RNC and the Washington State Republican party!
At the Othello Forum on June 30th, 2014 while speaking to the attendees and the other Candidates. I told them I was emailing Cathy's campaign staff asking for a meeting.
Wherein, I would be asking Cathy to take my proposal to Speaker Boehner asking him to come to Washington State and review the project along with Doc, Jamie and Dave. As the Tri-city Herald staff must know Speaker Boehner has said
"I am living on borrowed time"! I also told the crowd, I was going to ask Cathy to be the 1st Republican woman in US History to run for "Speaker of the House"!
