Advanced Technologies and Laboratories International at Hanford has been named one of the 15 safest companies in the nation by EHS Today magazine.
The company operates Hanford's 222-S Laboratory, where it performs analyses on some of Hanford's most dangerous radioactive waste.
"Safety is an integral part of ATL's values and culture," said Jou Hwang, ATL president, in a statement.
To be considered for the award, ATL demonstrated employee involvement in health and safety, innovative solutions to safety challenges, injury and illness rates significantly lower than the average for industries and comprehensive training programs.
