Yasuo Onishi, a Pacific Northwest National Laboratory scientist, will discuss what happened and what is happening now at Fukushima, Japan, at a June 19 talk in Richland.
Onishi has shared his expertise in radioactive decontamination during multiple visits to Japan since the disaster at the Fukushima nuclear power complex following an earthquake and tsunami in March 2011.
He will speak at a meeting of the Eastern Washington Chapter of the American Nuclear Society.
There is no cost to attend his talk at 7 p.m. at the Shilo Inn.
