Washington State University Tri-Cities plans a Social Justice Night event tonightwith a movie screening and art exhibition opening to celebrate Women’s History Month.
The movie The Pregnancy Project is based on a book by WSU Tri-Cities senior Gaby Rodriguez of Toppenish, who received national attention in 2011 for faking a pregnancy as part of a high school project aimed at examining stereotypes. The movie will be shown at 6 p.m. in Room 216 of the Consolidated Information Center.
Unmasked: Exploration of Sociopolitical Issues Through Art will open in the university’s Art Center also in the center. The monthlong exhibit features 35 student and community artists with work on issues such as domestic violence, social injustice and inequality. The opening reception is at 5 p.m.
Both events are free and open to the public.
