Goodwill Industries of the Columbia is teaming up with the Children's Reading Foundation of the Mid-Columbia to provide "First Teacher Libraries" to educators in Benton and Franklin counties.
New teachers serving kids in kindergarten to third grade are provided 50 new books and 50 used books in good condition through the initiative, a news release said.
"This initiative supports Goodwill's mission of education as part of the overall strategy to help people develop reading skills that will help them succeed in life. Early literacy is key to support our mission of helping individuals achieve their highest level of employment," said Scott Shinsato, Goodwill associative executive director, in the release.
New teachers should call 222-7323 or email firstname.lastname@example.org for more information.
