A Kennewick man was arrested in Hermiston on Thursday morning for allegedly fleeing after he was stopped by police, then crashing into another car and injuring its driver.
David A. Bjurlin, 31, was stopped by an officer near First Street and Highland Avenue, police said. As the officer walked up to his car, he sped off, running through a stop sign and crashing into another vehicle.
Bjurlin then took off running from his car, but was caught soon after by the officer who originally stopped him.
The female driver injured in the other car was taken to Good Shepherd Hospital. Her condition was not immediately available.
Bjurlin was booked into the Umatilla County jail on suspicion of attempt to elude in a vehicle and on foot, felony failure to perform the duties of a driver, third-degree assault, reckless driving and driving without a license.
