Two people were injured in a head-on collision Wednesday in Kennewick.
A Ford Taurus crossed three lanes of traffic and hit a Toyota Scion on Clearwater Avenue near Calvary Chapel church about 11:05 a.m., police said.
The driver of the Taurus, John K. Careatti of Kennewick, may have fallen asleep at the wheel, police said. He smelled heavily of marijuana and may be charged with vehicular assault, pending toxicology results.
Careatti and the Scion’s driver, Mary Louise Abeyta of Prosser, were taken to Trios for treatment. Abeyta suffered a possible broken pelvis, police said.
