A concrete curbing truck lost its brakes Friday morning and plowed into the corner of a Kennewick house near the Canyon Lakes Golf Course.
The 58,000-pound truck was driving uphill on South Olson Street when it stalled and the brakes failed about 9 a.m., said Kennewick police.
The driver tried to use a lower gear to slow down, but when that failed, he aimed for the house on the 3800 block of 47th Avenue to stop it, officers said.
The Artistic Lawn Curbing company truck was carrying nine yards of cement when it hit the empty house that someone recently bought, investigators said.
The driver, Juan Flores, 32, of Pasco, was cited for driving off the road.
Officers from Kennewick and the Washington State Patrol are investigating the condition of the truck. No one was hurt.
