A Pasco neighborhood was evacuated late Sunday afternoon as a brush fire spread toward homes west of the cable bridge.
It was one of several brush fires in Benton and Franklin counties Sunday.
Pasco firefighters had stabilized the fire by about 6:30 p.m. and the evacuation order was partially lifted, according to Pasco police reports. Vehicles were still being kept off streets in the area.
No homes burned, but a shed and some fences were damaged, according to police reports.
The evacuation included residents in the area of West Washington Street and South 13th Lane, which is east of the Little League ball fields.
Firefighters also responded to a Benton City-area wild land and structure fire on Knox Road Sunday afternoon.
Emergency responders were called to what was called in as a detached garage fire. At least one car also burned.
Just before 7 p.m. another brush fire was reported near the intersection of Highways 240 and 225 near Hanford. Because of blowing smoke, Highway 225 was closed to traffic near the fire.
