The trial for a 21-year-old man charged with a gang-related killing outside a Pasco grocery store has been postponed to Aug. 22.
Chris Pedroza-DeSantiago agreed to the delay during a Tuesday hearing in Franklin County Superior Court.
The Pasco man is charged with first-degree murder, conspiracy to commit first-degree murder and first-degree unlawful gun possession.
Prosecutors allege that on Feb. 4, 2015, Pedroza-DeSantiago spotted Juan C. Melgoza wearing a rival gang color in the parking lot of Fiesta Foods and the two got into a heated argument.
Pedroza-DeSantiago left the lot, but returned to the store about eight minutes later and shot Melgoza in the back, court documents said.
Melgoza, 42, fell to the ground and was pronounced dead by paramedics.
Pedroza-DeSantiago has been held in the Franklin County jail on $500,000 bail since his May 7, 2015, arrest.
