A high-level sex offender with a lengthy history of sex crimes against children is living as a transient in Benton County.
Michael William Gillaspy, 57, notified the Benton County Sheriff’s Office he is now homeless.
His criminal record includes several convictions for luring a child or developmentally disabled person with sexual motivation and indecent exposure to a person under 14.
Gillaspy’s most recent conviction was in Thurston County in 2013. He is banned from all parks, schools, libraries and public swimming pools in the area.
Gillaspy is currently under supervision by the state Department of Corrections. He is a Level 3 sex offender, meaning Gillaspy is considered the highest risk to reoffend. However, he is not currently wanted by authorities.
