A Pontiac Grand Am is removed Friday from the shoulder of Highway 240 near the eastbound lane about two miles east of Edison Street in Kennewick following a rollover crash.
A red Toyota Tundra pickup driven by Jerome Slavens, 56, of Prescott, was in the left lane and merged into the right lane where he struck the car carrying three teens, forcing it off the highway where it rolled over, the Washington State Patrol said. The teens, ages 17, 16 and 15, were taken to Trios Hospital by ambulance. Their names were not released.
The teens, a boy and two girls, were wearing seat belts as was Slavens, who wasn’t injured. He was cited with negligent driving, the state patrol said.
