A man allegedly held up two people at gunpoint Thursday after asking them for a ride at a Kennewick gas station.
Jeremy A. Schuler, 27, approached Brenda Buckley, 38, and a 17-year-old at the Conoco station on West Canal Drive, claiming he knew the teen, police said.
Schuler apparently asked the pair for a ride about 12:30 p.m., then pulled a gun out near West Canal Drive and North Cleveland Street, police said. He demanded money and ran away with an undisclosed amount of cash.
Nearby Kamiakin High School was put on lockdown for a while as a precautionary measure.

Authorities searched the area, blocking off streets and bringing in a police dog, but the suspect got away.
Police have probable cause to arrest Schuler for first-degree armed robbery and being a felon in possession of a firearm.
Anyone with information about the incident is asked to contact Crime Stoppers at 509-586-TIPS or 800-222-TIPS.
