Alcohol may have been involved in a crash Tuesday night that seriously injured two Connell men and sent a 16-year-old to the hospital, said the Franklin County Sheriff’s Office.
Jose Negrete, 18, was driving too fast on Hendrix Road about 10:50 p.m. and lost control going around a curve, the sheriff’s office said. A 16-year-old and Jose Valdovinos-Chavez, 20, all of Connell, also were in the car.
All were taken to Kadlec Regional Medical Center in Richland. The adults were reportedly flown to Haborview Medical Center in Seattle.
Initial reports were that Negrete suffered a broken pelvis and Valdovinos-Chavez had a broken back, the sheriff’s office said. Deputies smelled alcohol at the scene and took blood from Negrete.
