A 19-year-old man pleaded innocent Friday to amended charges stemming from last August’s shooting death of a Pasco man at a Connell apartment.
Fernando Gonzalez has a jury trial scheduled May 27 in Franklin County Superior Court.
He previously was charged with second-degree murder for John Bounhomsavanh’s death.
Prosecutors filed a second felony charge of possession of a stolen gun, and added a firearm enhancement to the murder charge.
Gonzalez claimed he was interrupting a burglary Aug. 11 when he shot the 32-year-old. He said he happened to be near the front door when Bounhomsavanh and his two friends knocked, the door flew open, the three men rushed in and he fired, according to court documents.
Gonzalez lives elsewhere in Connell but was staying at the apartment. A .45-caliber pistol was found inside.
