A high-risk sex offender with a child molestation conviction is now living in Kennewick.
Donald Edward Cobern, 59, notified authorities he is living on the 3600 block of West 16th Place, police said.
He is under the supervision of the state Department of Corrections.
Cobern was convicted in Benton County in 1989 of communication with a minor for immoral purposes. In 1995 he was convicted in Walla Walla County of first-degree child molestation.
Cobern is ranked as a Level 3 offender, meaning he poses the highest risk to reoffend. He is currently not wanted on any offense.
Kennewick police officials meet the second Wednesday of every month at the Kennewick Police Department to provide information about sex offenders in the city.
Anyone with questions or concerns can call Kennewick Officer Wes Gardner at 509-582-1330.
