Twelve people reported their vehicles prowled Saturday night into Sunday morning in Kennewick, police said.
The incidents were reported in the 1100 block of North Irving Place, the 800 block of North Volland Street, the 200 and 300 blocks of South Roosevelt Street, the 300 block of North Columbia Center Boulevard and the 400 block of South Dawes Street, according to a Kennewick Police news release.
In 11 of the 12 cases, victims left their vehicle unlocked or windows rolled down, police said. Items taken include cash, a handgun, credit cards, phones and paperwork.
Half of car prowls and thefts in Kennewick involve no forced entry, police said. They remind residents, “when you leave it, lock it.”
