A 33-year-old man is suspected of driving under the influence when his pickup made too wide of a turn onto Highway 26 and crashed into a sedan.
Washington State Patrol troopers will recommend Ivan Duran Gil be charged with a DUI for the 10:53 p.m. Thursday crash, according to a report.
Duran Gil was southbound on First Avenue in a 2013 Toyota Tacoma when the Othello man went to turn west onto the highway.
Meanwhile, Hugo A. Arvizu‘s eastbound 1991 Nissan Sentra was waiting in a left turn lane, the state patrol report said.
The collision scene, which was in the city limits of Othello, blocked the roadway for 1 1/2 hours and forced other motorists to take a detour.
The report said it is not known if either Duran Gil or Arvizu was wearing a seat belt at the time of the crash.
