A motorist stopped in September for a traffic infraction is accused of having 4.6 pounds of marijuana inside her vehicle.
Jettie May Hogan, 43, pleaded innocent Wednesday in Benton County Superior Court to possession of marijuana.
Her trial is scheduled March 2.
It is legal for adults in Washington state to possess up to one ounce of marijuana, unless they have a medical marijuana card.
Hogan was driving in the county on Sept. 29 when she was pulled over by Washington State Patrol Trooper Brian Luedtke, according to court documents.
The trooper reportedly noted a marijuana odor coming from the vehicle, and Hogan admitted having pot with her. The amount, which she turned over to Luedtke, was in excess of the legal limit, court documents said.
Hogan also told the trooper she had additional marijuana in the vehicle and allowed him to retrieve it, documents said. The total amount she allegedly had was 4.6 pounds.
