Gesa Credit Union is warning customers of fraudulent text messages being sent regarding debit cards.
Customers are receiving texts saying their check card is disabled and they need to call a number provided. These messages are not from Gesa, and responding could compromise account information.
Gesa is working with law enforcement authorities to track down and stop the fraudulent text messages. If someone receives one of these texts, which are occurring in other eastern Washington communities as well, Gesa recommends not responding and deleting the text.
