Prosecutors agree with medical examiners that the death of a Richland man at the Franklin County jail in July was caused by seizures due to alcohol and drug abuse.
Franklin County prosecutors released their findings Thursday after a review of Mitchell Campbell’s death. The findings were released nearly five months after Campbell, 26, was found unresponsive in a jail cell.
Campbell was booked into the jail on July 10 after he was found naked in a Pasco park. He died two days later on July 12.
A Pasco police officer reportedly pushed Campbell in a wheelchair to the park after he was kicked out of Lourdes Medical Center. Records show Campbell had seizures while at the Pasco hospital.

Campbell battled mental health and substance abuse problems, according to his family.
A medical examiner determined on July 13 that Campbell most likely died from seizures due to alcohol and drug abuse. His manner of death was ruled natural.
