A Richland man has life-threatening injuries after he fell three stories from a deck while trying to avoid being arrested.
Police were called to a disturbance Monday about 10 p.m. at a Kennewick apartment on North Tweedt Street, said Sgt. Ken Lattin. Officers spotted blood on an outdoor railing and inside the door.
Officers arrested Brandon A. Schultz, 29, of Kennewick, at the apartment on an outstanding warrant. And a woman at the apartment said the blood belonged to her boyfriend, Saxxon P. Harvill, 30, because he cut his hand on a broken bottle. But Harvill wasn’t in the apartment.
As the officers here leaving, they noticed Harvill unconscious on a sidewalk three floors below a deck, Lattin said. He apparently was trying to flee from police because he was wanted on several warrants. He fell to the ground, suffering a serious head injury, said Lattin.
Harvill was taken to Trios Health in Kennewick then flown to Harborview Medical Center in Seattle, Lattin said.
