A Kennewick man was arrested early Sunday morning for allegedly forcing his his ex-girlfriend to drive around with him for five hours or he would harm her.
The 22-year-old Kennewick woman went to see Andrew S. Krom, 22, after he left a threatening voicemail on her phone stating he would kill her parents, family and boyfriend, a Kennewick police release said.
The two drove around west Kennewick and the woman did not feel she could leave Krom. He threatened to kick her at one point if she didn’t return to the vehicle and made further threats against her current boyfriend.
The victim was eventually able to drive away from Krom, leaving him in Richland, and contact police. He was later found by officers on Columbia Center Boulevard.
Krom was booked in to the Benton County Jail on a 72-hour hold as police investigate a charge of unlawful imprisonment. The Benton County prosecutor’s office will also review possible charges of felony harassment.
